ALOO MASALA RICE

ALOO MASALA RICE


Ingerdients:.
  •   Rice 6 cups
  •   Potatoes 6-8 (cut in square pieces after peeling)
  •   Pickle 2 tbsp
  •   Green Chillies 3-4
  •   Tomatoes 3 (medium size)
  •   Yogurt 3 tbsp (thick full fat)
  •   Ginger & Garlic Paste 1 & 1/2 tbsp (heaped)
  •   Onions 2 (large size)
  •   Turmeric Powder 1 tsp
  •   Salt 1 & 1/2 tsp
  •   Red Chilli Powder 1 & 1/2 tsp
  •   Black Peppercorn 10-15
  •   Cinnamon Stick 1 & 1/2 inch (cut in small Pieces)
  •   Black Cardamom 2 
  •   Cumin Seeds 1 & 1/2 tbsp (white)
  •   Water 3 Big Glass
  •   Oil less than 1 cup

METHOD:.

     1: In a pan add oil,onions & ginger and garlic paste.
     2: Then fry onions till it turns golden.
     3: Now add cumin seeds,black peppercorn,black cardamom and cinnamon stick.
     4: Fry it and then add tomatoes,green chillies,salt,turmeric powder & red chilli powder.
     5: Mix well and add water 3-4 tbsp & cook till tomatoes become gravy and oil comes on surface.
     6: Then add potatoes & 1 to 1/2 cup of water and cook till potatoes become soft & tender.
     7: Now add pickle and yogurt mix well & cook gravy for one minute till oil comes on surface.
     8: Then add rice in the gravy,water mix & cook on high flame till water is dry.
     9: When water is dried keep the flame on low-medium & cook for 5-8 minutes.
    10: Enjoy and serve hot with pudiney ki chutney.
