Spicy Chicken Karahi

Ingredients:.

  • 1 : Small-size chicken
  • 6 cloves : Garlic crushed
  • 5 medium : Green chillies
  • 1 tbsp : Ginger paste
  • 1 tsp : Crushed red chillies
  • 1 tsp : Powdered red chillies
  • half cup : Plain yogurt
  • 1 tsp : Salt
  • Half tsp : Black pepper
  • 4 large : Tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp : Fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp : Whole cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp : Garam masala
  • 4 tbsp : Fresh coriander (chopped)
  • 1 tsp : Dried fenugreek leaves
  • Oil: as per taste


Directions:.

Wash chicken and put it in a stainer basket for few minutes to stain all the water. Fry chicken in oil for few minutes and add ginger and garlic in it. Add red chilli powder, red crushed chillies, salt, cumin seeds, dried fenugreek leaves,black pepper and 3 green chillies (cut in small pieces) into it. Stir it continously on a high flame for 4 minutes. Add two tomatoes (cut in pieces) into it. Stir until tomatoes become soft. Now add yogurt (stir it first). Stir until yogurt dries. Then add remaining tomatoes (cut in length-wise thin slices) and remaining green chillies (cut each into 2 length-wise slices). Add 1/4 cup of water into it and cover it for 5 minutes on a low flame. At the end sprinkle garam masala and fresh green coriander on it. Serve hot with home-made naan (naan recipe here).
